Exploration work outstanding?Put your existing data
to work.

Desktop Geoscience reviews your project obligations and completes quality desktop geological work: data compilation, technical analysis, interpretation and reporting. Turn the information you already hold into useful geological insight and documented results.

Know the scope, price and schedule before you approve the work.

The deadline keeps approaching

You have years of data.
But the analysis and reports are still outstanding.

Historical reports, drill logs, assays and survey files can contain valuable information. Bringing them together, checking their quality and interpreting the geology takes time your team may not have.

As the deadline approaches, there is less time to resolve data gaps, complete the analysis and review the report. A defined desktop work plan gives your team a clear path forward.

01You need to know exactly what is outstanding.
02You need the data checked, organised and interpreted.
03You need records that support the report.
04You want the expenditure to improve the project.
A guide who understands exploration

You need practical help.
And a clear basis for each decision.

Your desktop work should do more than fill a report. Desktop Geoscience connects the available evidence to a defined geological question, with a technical scope reviewed by a geologist.

The experience behind Desktop Geoscience

Warwick Anderson

Warwick founded Gold Exploration Australia in 2013 and OreFox in 2017. His background combines mineral exploration, project generation and geological data technology.

His work received the 2019 OZ Minerals Explorer Challenge Genius Prize.

A simple plan

Three steps from outstanding work
to documented results.

01 / Review your project

Know what needs doing

Tell us your permit numbers, deadlines and available data. We agree the review scope and fee, assess the records and identify suitable desktop work for a priced proposal.

02 / Approve your desktop scope

Know what you are paying for

Review the analysis, geological purpose, deliverables, price and schedule. Once you approve, we complete the agreed office-based work and keep you informed.

03 / Receive your results

Move forward with a clear record

Receive the reviewed interpretation, maps, agreed reports and supporting datasets. Where included in the scope, we coordinate authorised lodgement and organise the records for your next decision.

A clear offer

Find out what is outstanding.
Get a proposal to address it.

The Exploration Project Review assesses your permit conditions and project records to identify suitable desktop work and outstanding information. We confirm the review scope and fee before starting.

Exploration Project Review

Your requirements.
Your work plan.
Your delivery price.

You receive a documented assessment of the available evidence and a proposal that explains what we recommend, why it is needed and what it will cost. A Desktop Geoscience geologist reviews the technical scope before it reaches you.

Request your project review
  • Obligations and relevant deadlines
  • Completed work and supporting evidence
  • Outstanding work and information gaps
  • Recommended desktop geological activities
  • Deliverables, schedule and itemised costs
  • Your responsibilities and required approvals

You approve the work before delivery starts. Additional work requires an agreed change to scope. Workspace subscriptions and managed support are quoted separately.

Quality work from the office

Make better use of the information
already collected.

Each assignment has a defined technical question, a documented method and deliverables suited to your project.

Compile and check

Historical exploration reviews, data compilation, digitisation and checks for gaps, inconsistencies and data quality issues.

Analyse and interpret

Remote sensing, geological interpretation, desktop review of geochemical and geophysical data, GIS mapping and evidence-based target assessment.

Document and report

Technical reports, maps, supporting datasets and preparation of activity reporting material and expenditure records from supplied evidence.

More than a reporting deadline

Complete the work.
Learn something useful.
Decide what comes next.

Your existing data deserves careful analysis. We define the question, assess the source material and apply methods and quality checks suited to the dataset.

You receive a clear account of the evidence, interpretation, limitations and recommended next steps. The result is useful technical work that can support a better exploration decision.

Your online project workspace

Keep the analysis organised.
Stay ahead of the next report.

Your subscription gives your team access to an online workspace for project records, maps, geological results, reports and work plans. Find the information you need in one place and keep a clear record of completed and upcoming work.

Add managed support for help with deadlines, progress reviews and planning your next analysis and reporting tasks.

Before you start

Clear answers.

Can you tell us exactly what is outstanding?

We assess the supplied permit conditions, approved work programme and project evidence. If information is missing or a requirement needs confirmation, the review identifies it explicitly.

Can you help when a deadline is close?

Tell us the deadline when you enquire. We assess the data available, technical scope, review requirements and remaining time before agreeing to a delivery schedule.

Do you carry out fieldwork?

Desktop Geoscience provides desktop geological services. Our scope covers existing data review, compilation, technical analysis, interpretation, mapping and reporting. Field surveys, sampling and drilling are outside this service.

Will desktop work address our outstanding obligations?

The review checks the actual requirements and the evidence available before recommending a scope. It identifies where desktop work is suitable and flags requirements for other activities. A desktop report does not replace field activities specified in a work programme.

Do we need an ongoing workspace subscription?

Desktop geological work, an online workspace subscription and managed support are separate services. We explain the available options and costs in your proposal. Agreed reports and datasets remain deliverables of the project.

What do you need from us first?

Your company and contact details, permit numbers, relevant deadlines and a short description of the problem. You can upload your permit conditions, work programme, previous reports and available data in the review form.
